Precession of Thunder (2017)

Plasma Sculpture Series

Two Plasma Forms.jpg

Precession of Thunder is a series of glass sculptures inspired by the visual forms generated in the closing movement of the NoiseFold 2.0 performances. In the performance rapidly accelerating totemic pistons morph into gyroscopic wheels realized in vivid red, black and white alternating color patterns to evoke a kind of apocalyptic other worldly assault.  The virtual vessels also emit thunderous percussive booms and ripping saw-like sounds. Using plasma was an ideal way to realize dynamic virtual forms in glass with a similarly electrically charged effect.
